A couple years ago, while attending the Catalyst Conference, I heard a song called "I'm a fanatic". The main verse says "I am a F-A-N-A-T-I-C, I rep Christ 'til I D-I-E". Rap music isn't necessarily my music of choice, but I like this song. I like it because it made me think.
I am a fan (or fanatic) of many things. In the world of sports, it is easy to become a fan of a team. And, when we are a fan of a team, we proudly show it. Whether it be wearing a team hat or shirt, or just talking about our team, people know who we are a fan of.
But, I wonder. Do as many people know that I am a fan of Jesus as know I am a fan of the Cincinnati Reds? It makes me think.

Great Point! On the contrary, I am a sports illiterate. I have a half hearted interest in the Cubs and Lakers because my son grew up admiring these teams, but I don't know the players, and don't invest in following their games. I know a little bit about the sport in general, but I'm not a follower or a fan. I think some people see Christianity as I see sports. They know a little about it, but don't invest time in being a follower or getting to know what makes it so exciting.
Mim, very well said.
Everyday is a new day to show who your are a fan of. You represent Jesus everyday by your actions and everthing you say and do. I am not very good at expressing how I feel about God but I can try to be a fan in all that I do
