I really, really dislike broccoli. Maybe you could even say I hate it. I found this video on youtube.com that truly represents how I feel about it. In fact, I dislike it so much I did a sermon on hating broccoli.
The sermon was basically about praising God even in those "broccoli" times in our lives. Those times where life serves you a big plate of broccoli, but you would rather be eating a plate of brownies with sprinkles. To this day, I still get people coming up to me talking about the "broccoli" talk I did. Hopefully they remember it more for the point of the talk rather then just that I hate broccoli.
Life is like that sometimes. We go along enjoying things, where life is good, and yet we fail to give God the praise. Then, as we fail to praise God when life is great, it makes it almost impossible to praise him when life gives us a plate of broccoli. When we praise God in the good times, it helps us to be able to still praise him in the tough times. God is in control and He will bring us out of those broccoli moments. Let's make sure to always praise him for the good times and it will be easier to still praise him for being by our side through the hard times.

I am growing to be a fan. Keep on blogging. I like broccoli, but by your definition...I am having a broccoli moment. It's day 3 of a five day virus ("gasp" Did I just type the word virus into a computer????)and I've been banned from the schools that I work at until Monday. If I told you how much God has used this to bless me...it would be longer than your blog. Nobody wants that. It's sweet to know that God is good...even in the broccoli moments.

Selleck told his Papaw that boys do not like broccoli Wonder why?
Well...you and I have more in common than I realized! Broccoli is truly the the most heinous of all veggies. My mom told me as a child I would learn to love it when I grew up and maybe I would like it if I smothered it in cheese. My response to her? If you put poop on a plate and covered it with cheese, it's STILL A PLATE OF POOP!! (And, no, I have not learned to love it. Maybe I'm not an adult yet...)
Lovin' your blog...much like a fungus, you're growing on me!!
Teresa =)
Teresa, I know that I, too, will never like broccoli. It is even to the point that Sarah will buy Slade baby food with broccoli in it and I can't even bring myself to feed it to him.
