Useless Knowledge

I have to say that most of the knowledge I seem to be able to retain is useless. I wish I could remember more important stuff, but a lot of times I can't. I think my brain is all filled up with useless knowledge. And, it seems that for me, t.v. trivia is the number 1 category of useless knowledge in my brain. Here is a list of 10 t.v. facts I remember that are useless and are taking up the space of things I would like to be able to remember.

1. Hawkeye, from M*A*S*H, was from Crab Apple Cove, Maine.
2. The restaurant, above the bar on Cheers, was named Melville's.
3. The full name of A.C. Slater from, Saved by the Bell, was Albert Clifford.
4. Frasier and Lilith's son, on the shows Cheers and Frasier, was Frederick.
5. Barney Fife's girlfriend, on the Andy Griffith show, was Thelma Lou.
6. Doogie Howser's best friend was Vinnie Delpino.
7. The Keatons, from Family Ties, lived in Columbus, Ohio.
8. Kevin Arnold's love interest, on The Wonder Years, was Winnie Cooper.
9. Doug Heffernan, on King of Queens, worked for IPS.
10. Rachel Green's (from the show Friends) favorite movie was Weekend at Bernie's.

See! Useless.

It's hard to believe. I was just browsing through my favorite blogs searching for useless information. You are the winner! Just let me know what prize you would like: fine jewelry, a major appliance, or fine dining. I will arrange to have it delivered next weekend.

Mim, If you need useless knowledge, I have plenty more where that came from!

I knew #4, #8, & #9. You definitely win the prize for useless knowledge. I know there's a lot more where that came from too. If you could just remember the correct date of your second son's birthday . . .

In fairness to me, we went to the hospital very early in the morning on the 25th, but Slade wasn't born until after midnight on the 26th. To me, it all seemed like the same day. So, that is why I mistakenly think he was born on the 25th and not the 26th.

But, maybe my useless knowledge storage keeps me from remembering that.

Good stuff. There has to be a game show out there that you would be perfect for. Trivial Pursuit??? Just think you could win money for that knowledge and then it's not useless.

Rob, Back in the day, Mtv used to have a game show called "Remote Control". I used to rock that game. We had the home version and people stopped playing with me, because I knew all the answers. If I could have just got on that show before it was cancelled, I could have been rich! (Or at least won the car or trip or whatever the prize was)
