What not to do on a job interview - week 2

With the current job market, many people will be searching for new jobs. To help out, I thought I would take one day each week for 5 weeks and give you my "Top 5 things not to do on a job interview". We are in week number 2. These are things that have actually happened during one of the job interviews I have conducted. If you are interviewing for a new job, please do not do these things.

2) Don't be too honest on the job interview - One of the standard questions I would ask on a job interview was "Tell me what your current or last boss would tell me about you". I had a guy that just laid it all out. He went on and on telling me how his boss would probably say things like "I am Lazy" or "I often show up late for work" or "I didn't get along well with other workers or the boss". Wow! That is honesty. Honesty that keeps you from getting a job. Chances are when an employer calls your former boss, many will only confirm the time that you worked there and not elaborate on you as a worker, in fear of getting sued. Being honest is a good thing, but throwing yourself under the bus doesn't usually get you the job. This guy wasn't offered a position.
