In our home town, Monroe, Ohio, we have a very unique landmark. That landmark, a 62 foot tall Jesus statue, that is creme colored, lovingly refered to as "Big Butter Jesus". The statue is in front of the Solid Rock church overlooking interstate 75. If you haven't seen it, you are missing out. It is huge. It has become something that our little city is known for. I can't tell you how many times I have given someone directions like "When you see the 60 foot Jesus, get off of that exit and turn right."
This statue has it's own Wikipedia entry. Apparently it's real name is "King of Kings". It also has it's own song (I have included the video to that song at the end of this post). Sure, we could have been one of those towns that is known for it's beach or amusement park or natural landmark, but not us. We are the town with the 60 foot Jesus, and that's pretty cool.
